- Verona have lost just four times in 15 home matches
- The hosts have scored in nine of their last 10 home games
- Inter have scored in 13 of their 14 away games this season
- The visitors have seen both teams score in five of their six post-restart matches
Inter’s slump
Could Inter’s dip get worse in this visit to Verona this week? While history is against the hosts, a turnaround could be on the cards in this one. Verona and Inter have met 57 times so far in Serie A: Hellas have won only four times, with 33 wins for the Nerazzurri and 20 draws. With the Nerazzurri coming off a 2-1 home defeat to Bologna, they could suffer another setback here.

Things have certainly taken a dip for Antonio Conte’s men of late. Inter have lost three of their last seven league games (W3 D1), as many losses as in their previous 35 Serie A games. That’s left them 11 points short in the title race, giving them nothing to fight for in the run-in. Can Conte still inspire a performance from his team with little spurring them on? Our predictions see them struggling against a high-flying Verona side.
Verona hope for Europe
Verona have taken 27 points in 15 home Serie A games so far this season – their best home record at this stage of the season since 2001/02. That return has inspired their push for a European spot, as the hosts are just four points shy of Europe going into this week’s fixtures. With eight home wins and just four losses in those 15 home games, they are certainly a force at their own stadium.
The hosts have scored in 73% of their home games this term. Verona have scored in nine of their last 10 home matches, a run which should continue this week. Inter have seen both teams score in five of their six matches since the restart. That includes all of their away matches so far, which form part of an impressive run for the visitors.
Nerazzurri impressive on the road
Inter may be falling short in the title race, but their away form is excellent. With 32 points from 14 matches on the road so far, they have little trouble away from the San Siro. They’ve scored in every away game bar their visit to Juventus, so we expect Inter’s goal threat to worry the hosts on Thursday night.
Verona have conceded at least two goals in each of their last seven games against Inter at the Bentegodi. Verona are looking tighter at the back of late, but we still don’t see them keeping Inter at bay this week. The Nerazzurri have seen 71% of their away trips finish with both teams scoring, so that’s our first pick in our predictions for this clash. Inter’s only dropped points at sides below them were two 1-1 draws and with Verona losing one of their last seven at home we’re backing another 1-1 draw for the pair.
