5 football legends with zero red cards, football is usually a physical game, and it’s almost impossible not to make contact with an opponent in the course of the game.
Rough tackles, intentional or not are bound to happen, usually leading to a yellow, that’s a warning card or sadly a red card which means the player has to leave the game immediately, and miss the next game.
However, few players never saw a red card in their playing career, these players are worthy to note for their great feat.

1. Michel Platini
Michel was a spectacular player with an amazing career. He is one of the greatest players to grace the game of football . He was also the top goal scorer in Euro 1984.
Platini won the Ballon d’Or three times, in 1983, 1984 and 1985. Moreover, he is also one of the footballers with zero red cards in his career.
The French international forward made a total of 652 appearances during his career both with his nation and club; 580 with the club and 72 at Country but he was never shown a single red card in any one of these appearances. Although he received a total of 13 yellow cards.
2. Raul Gonzalez
Raul Gonzalez is a Real Madrid legend, He played for the Spanish side for 16 years from 1994-2010. He went on to becoming Real Madrid’s highest goal scorer with 232 goals before his record was broken by C.Ronaldo.
It is astonishing that he played 1018 games but never received a single red card in his career.
3. Philipp Lahm
There’s no question about Philipp being on the list, with an amazing career, the German legend Philipp Lahm is considered the nicest guy in football.
He holds the record for the only German player to feature on this list of players with no red cards. Phillip Lahm made a total of 765 career appearances from which 652 was at club level and 113 was at International level.
Athough the German midfielder received a huge number of yellow cards during his career (60) he spent 15 years in Bayern Munich without a single red card.
4. Ryan Giggs
The Manchester and Welsh legend, sits in this list. The Manchester United legend played 672 games in the colours of the Red Devils but was never sent off even for once. Currently managing the Wales national team, it is easy to see why his players are so disciplined.
The Welshman is one of the most decorated players in the club’s history. He won two UEFA Champions League titles, 13 Premier League titles and four FA Cup titles. Giggs is now serving as the head coach of the Wales national team.
He played a total of 1011 games with no red card.
5. Andres Iniesta
The FC Barcelona and Spanish legend Andres Iniesta is the second Spanish international to feature in the list.
Iniesta is now 37 years old and played for Barcelona for the majority of his career and now plays for Vissel Kobe in Japan.
He made a total of 674 appearances for the club and 131 for the Spanish national team, he currently has played 927 games and still counting, but he was never shown a single red card in his career.
