Arsenal star Lucas Torreira has sent a message to former clubmate Bruno Fernandes ahead of Manchester United medical
The 25-year-old Portugal international has found back of the net on 15 occasions from midfield this season on the back of a 32-goal tally the last term but the Mia born star is all set to undergo his medical on Thursday at Carrington.
Torreira shared a dressing room with new Manchester United signing Fernandes, while the pair were both at Sampdoria before the Uruguay ace left the Serie A club for Gunners in the summer of 2018 and Portuguese playmaker move to José Alvalade Stadium a year earlier and is now set to sign for the Premier League rival in a deal worth up to £68m on a five-year contract at Old Trafford.
Arsenal star formed a strong friendship with Fernandes during their time together at Sampdoria and has wished his former teammate well in the Premier League ahead of his hugely-anticipated transfer to Manchester United.
Torreira told Sky Sports when asked about Fernandes’ move: “I really hope he adapts quickly, particularly as the Premier League is so physical and intense as a championship,”
“I’m sure he has the right mentality to adapt quickly. Obviously he’s joining a big club in Manchester United so I hope he enjoys the move.”
Manchester United are still interested with a move for adolescents Nathan Bishop and Jude Bellingham before Friday midnight transfer deadline with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer men still in the race of top four as Red Devils are currently fifth in the Premier League, having won just nine of their 24 league games this term.
