Arsenal, Real Madrid and Manchester United are set to be in the race for 23 year old Nigeria Striker Victor Osimhen as the summer transfer window draws in.

The Napoli forward has recently become one of the most sought after striker in Europe with the likes of top teams like Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United all in race to have Victor spend his signature for their respective teams.

Osimhen has been in very fine form in Napoli scoring 11 goals and assisting 4 in his 22 appearances in all competitions this season.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal are in need of powering their strike force. The Red Devils may currently have to let go Cavani and Ronaldo, and getting a striker to fill in their space has become top priority for the Manchester United side.

Also, Arsenal had to let go 32-year old Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave for Barcelona due to disciplinary issues, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah would be out of contract by the end of the season and are uncertain if they’ll extend their stay with the club.

The Super Eagle striker, Victor Osimhen moved to Napoli on the 31 of July 2020 for a club record fee of €74 making him the most expensive African footballer in history.

Osimhen who started his football career with Ultimate Strikers Academy in Lagos before he was given a spot into Nigeria’s U17 where he represented them at the 2015 FIFA World Cup in Chile.

The striker starred in the tournament scoring 10 goals to finish as highest goalscorer as Nigeria lifted the title in Chile.

Immediately after the tournament, Osimhen received offers from the likes of Arsenal and other big European sides, Osimhen however chose Wolfsburg where he struggled with injuries and had difficulties adapting.

He then joined Charleroi on loan and reignited his career with 20 goals in 36 appearances to finish as the Club’s Player of the Season in the 2018/2019 football year. In the summer transfer window of 2019, Charleroi signed him permanently, and then sold him to Lille for £18.

On arriving in Lille, Osimhen scored 18 goals in 32 games, winning the club player of the year, he also won the 2020 Prix Marc-Vivien Foé, an award given to the African best player in Ligue 1. This performance made Victor to be sought by many European teams and it was Naples that had him.

The Napoli forward has now scored 21 times and registered seven assists in 52 outings for the Italian side since making the move from Lille in 2020.
