Bruno Soriano Strikes against Sevilla

by comsmedia

Bruno couldn’t have asked for a better game to reignite his love of football. The game was full of fast pace breaks and surprising goals and strange comments.

Villarreal started of slowly in a 4,4,2 formation which Calleja is favoring and and working for the Yellows. Alcacer and Moreno lead to the start line with Cazorla providing the attack out wide, Pau Torres back in at CB.

In the 18 minute, Villarreal struck first blood. G Moreno sent a curling cross which struck the head of Zambo by the near post. Vacllik pulled of a stunning save only to find Alcacer who pounced on rebound to send it home.

Escudero found himself through on goal outside the box. With a beautiful left footed across with questionable defending caught out Asenjo and curled into the right hand corner.

Villarreal didn’t have long to wait as Villarreal’s golden boy came to the rescue. Pau Torres whipped in an expert header from a Santi Cazorla corner. The yellow submarine went in to half time 2-1 up.

The second half it became clear Villarreal were tiring. In the 63 minute the match was sealed. From the left side again Munir EL Haddadi got the better of the defence to slot in a fine left footed curling shot

In the 80th Minute Villarreal’s virtual fans went wild as Villarreal’s captain and rock of midfield made his long awaited return. It was exactly 3 years since Bruno Soriano last played and didn’t waste a second making his presence known. He was booked in the 90 minute for a dark Evan Banega. The Argentinean, former Valencia player obviously got our captains blood up.

The final score was 2-2 in a brilliant game with end to end chances which reassured me that despite Covid football still lives on.
