The Bundesliga is usually home to some of Europe’s best goalscorers – and the 2019/20 season is proving to be no anomaly.
Having won the Torjägerkanone — or top-scorer cannon, in English — for the past two seasons, Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski is once again the man to beat, having hit 25 goals prior to the temporary break.
He has picked up where he left off and now has a total of 30 goals to his name. However, the Polish striker’s lead isn’t as comfortable as you would think for a player who’s been so prolific. RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner is not too far behind, with 25 goals.
Lewandowski and Werner are the only duo to have managed at least 20 goals, however, with eight separating the latter in second place and Jadon Sancho’s 17 after the England international hit his first career hat-trick in a 6-1 victory over Paderborn.
The Borussia Dortmund youngster is three ahead of Rouwen Hennings, while Serge Gnabry, Jhon Cordoba, Robin Quaison and Sebastian Andersson are all on 12 strikes apiece.
It seems almost inevitable now that Erling Haaland will make his way onto the list soon, having scored a staggering 10 goals (he’s the second-fastest to do so in competition history) since joining from RB Salzburg in January. The Norwegian will be hoping to return from injury sooner rather than later to maximise his total.
But who makes up the complete top 10 of Bundesliga goalscorers? Check out the list below…
