Chelsea deal to sign Napoli striker Dries Mertens could be off as the Blues are unwilling to match his asking price of the Belgian star.
Chelsea offered £5m for the 32-year-old attacker a sum Napoli feel it is not enough to seal a deal for the attacker.
Though he would be a free agent next season and could walk away for free to his desired club, then he would be 33 years old.
His deal will trigger Olivier Giroud’s exit from Chelsea as the likes of Inter Milan, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the services of the attacker.
Chelsea could miss out on his signature this winter.
Mertens was also offered to Arsenal but the Gunners show no interest like that of Chelsea if the Blues fails to Land the Belgian Olivier Giroud would be allowed to leave the Stamford Bridge outfit this winter.
