Chelsea Football Club Thursday has agreed a €55 million (£49.4 million) transfer fee for the German international RP Leipzig Striker, Timo Werner to Sanford Bridge this June.
Wener will be earning £200,000-a-week as stipulated in his contract.
Comsmedia learnt that the German international had earlier preferred a move to Liverpool but the club are not willing to pay Werner’s release clause due to the current financial turmoil facing clubs across Europe tour other regions.
The 24-year-old is elated to have joined Frank Lampard’s side with the hope of a regular start at the bridge.
Chelsea is looking at signing two additional players, a left-back, and Leicester’s Ben Chilwell, the club’s primary target.
