Dortmund need starlet Jude Bellingham of Birmingham badly

Borussia Dortmund deal another transfer blow to Man Utd with £30m raid of Liverpool target.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly set to beat Manchester United and Liverpool to the signing of Birmingham starlet Jude Bellingham.

Manchester United and Liverpool’s battle for Birmingham wonderkid Jude Bellingham has been dealt a blow as the 16-year-old is supposedly closing in on a move to Borussia Dortmund.

According to German publication Sport Bild, Dortmund are preparing to break their transfer record to land the youngster.

This would be the second time United have missed out to the Bundesliga club in a matter of months.

In January, Erling Braut Haaland snubbed a move to Old Trafford in favour of the Westfalenstadion.

But United were more hopeful of snatching Bellingham from Championship mid-table outfit Birmingham.

However, it is claimed that Dortmund will offer £30million (€35m) for the midfielder, more than they paid for current record signing Mats Hummels (£26m).

Dortmund are deep into the negotiating stage – way far ahead of their Premier League rivals.

Bellingham has scored three goals and registered three assists in his 31 Championship appearances this campaign.

Dortmund have a track record of nurturing young talent and turning them into world class stars.

They sniped Jadon Sancho from Manchester City three years ago and despite him still being 19 years old he is expected to be sold for around £100m this summer.

Birmingham take on Premier League Leicester City tonight in what could have been Bellingham’s biggest test yet.

However, manager Pep Clotet is pulling the teenager out of the spotlight.

“Jude has played a lot of games and I rested him on Saturday with a view to him playing this game on Wednesday,” Clotet confirmed.

“But young players manage the load different to full professionals, sometimes they take longer to recover and they get minor knocks and minor things.

“It was an intense game against Millwall and I want him to have a complete fresh, new start for Saturday.

“I know that will disappoint the fans, the fact he will not play against Premier League opposition tomorrow.

“It is very simple, his team-mates
