EPL nominees seven Player of the Season of the 2019/2020
Premier League have announced seven nominees for the 2019/2020 Player of the Season with three from champions Liverpool, Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The shortlists are Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne, Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, Southamption’s Danny Ings and Burnley’s Nick Pope.
Reds captain, Henderson, who won the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Player of the Year award, helped Liverpool to win the Premier League title after a 30-year wait.
For Alexander-Arnold provided 13 assists from full-back and also nominated for the Young Player of the Year Award while Senegalese forward Mane bagged 18 goals and registered seven assists himself.
Jamie Vardy won the golden boot with 23 goals for Leicester City as they finished fifth in the premier league. He became the oldest player to achieve such feat.
De Bruyne is the only Manchester City player on the list. The midfielder equaled the assists record of 20 assists in a single premier league season even as the Cityzens failed to retain their league crown by finishing second.
Danny Ings scored 22 times for the Southampton as they retained their premier league status while Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope made the list after finishing second in the golden glove race – only Ederson kept more clean sheets with 15 clean sheet.
