The ex Manchester united and Watford player Ighalo has arrived the Nigerian camp ahead of the double legged world cup playoff qualifiers against the black stars of Ghana.
Odion Jude Ighalo has been in sintilating form for his club Al Hilal since his arrival in the January transfer window,the forward has quickly settled in the Saudi Arabia league. Al Hilal is the most successful team in the Saudi Arabia league with a total of 17 league title and recently won it in the 2020-21 season.
The Nigerian international Ighalo was on fire in their last league game Scoring an hat-trick as Al Hilal defeated Al-Ahi Jeddah 4:2. He been impressive for his club side scoring a total of 23 goals in 28 matches for Al Hilal as they continue their surge to reclaim the league title they won last season.
The experience front man announced his retirement from international football to focus on his club after the AFCON in 2019. Despite finishing the tournament as the highest goal scorer with 4goals.
He was angered by the Nigerian fans that criticized him after the super eagles elimination at the hands of eventual winners Algeria.He even went further by going social media after receiving threat online.

The return of the fomer Granada man to the super eagles fold has raised eyebrows among some Nigerian fans who believes the Al Hilal striker is not needed in the team and the young generation strikers like Victor Oshimen and Emmanuel Dennis are more than enough for the super eagles to see off the Ghanian.
Augustine Eguavoen the current super eagles coach has come out to defend his reason for inviting Ighalo,he stated that Nigerian has a young squad and would need experience heads like ighalo which has been missing in the team, he also added that the young players would learn slot from the veteran and also create healthy competition in the squad.

Earlier, watford’s William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Ola Aina, Frank Onyeka and Semi Ajayi were the early birds to arrive the team’s camp.
