Erstwhile Super Eagles midfield maestro, John Obi Mikel has stated in clear terms that he is not ruling out a possible return to Trabzonspor if certain conditions are met by the club chieftains.
Mikel and Trabzonspor parted ways by mutual consent after he refused to play due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mikel only joined Black Sea Storm as a free agent on a two-year deal last summer, at the end of his brief stint in the Championship with Middlesbrough.
The 32-year-old played a crucial role in helping Trabzonspor soar to the summit of the Super Lig this season with 19 league appearances.
But the former Chelsea star said he won’t rejoin Burgundy Blue unless club president Ahmet Agaoglu tender an unreserved apology over the way he was treated by the club.
Speaking to Karadeniz newspaper, the former Lyn Oslo midfield general expressed his love for the club but maintained that some section of the club are still angry with him
“I would love to return. I still get support messages from the fans of Trabzonspor even if there is an angry people when I want to go .
“They have really made me feel good and valuable many times. But I would like to be called by President Ahmet Ağaoğlu at least once for me to return.
“We can solve the problem. I’m waiting for an apology.” Mikel told Karadeniz newspaper
