Iheanacho’s assist vital, as Leicester grabs 3 points at home. Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho had an impressive game against needs united as it was his assist to Harvey Barnes that proved the deciding factor as both teams clashed, with Leicester picking all three points in the king power stadium.

Leicester city started off without the Nigerian striker, but after a fruitless 61 minutes, the foxes were forced to bring in the striker, replacing Jamie Vardy.

It took only 6 minutes for Kelechi Iheanacho to lay a pass to Harvey Barnes as he placed the ball at the far end of the post, outside the keeper’s reach.

Countryman Wilfred Ndidi picked up a yellow card for a high boot challenge in the second half of the game and was replaced by Senegal international Namplays Mendy just 14 minutes from the end of regulation.

Lookman was introduced in the 61 minutes, replacing Hamza Choudhury, although having an impressive game, he didn’t see the back of the net.

Speaking to Leciester TV after the game, the foxes coach, was all in praise for the Nigerian International saying although the game was a though one, Kelcechi showed his class and contributed to the team.

Rodgers said “It was a really tough game for us today,”

“We know Leeds physicality and how they run and how they work, but I thought the players showed a great amount of courage.

“Again we had to adjust the players, playing out of position.

“Hamza came in to play at right back, but we kept fighting,we kept working. Kasper made some good saves, we missed some chances, but then we showed a real moment of quality in the game to win.

“I thought collectively, the players defended well when they had to.”

“Kels (Kelechi iheanacho) does really well, because he offers himself for the bounce pass and then Harvey does what he does greatly. 

“He’s really becoming a good finisher, and he finished it really well.”

With this win, Leicester has moved up to 11th in the Premier League table after a third straight win.

Leeds stays just two points above the relegation zone having played more games than all the sides around.

In other Premier League matches, Brentford pipped Norwich 3-1, as Nigerian midfielder was introduced in the 59 minute of the match. Brentford have now climbed to the 15 position in the league, six points away from the relegation zone.

Chelsea won with a 4 goal margin over Burnley, while Aston Villa thrashed Southhampton 4-0, Newcastle flogged Brighton 2-1, Crystal defeated Wolves 2-0, while Mane’s goal was the decider over West Ham, as Liverpool edge past West ham with a one-goal difference.
