Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon wants a move to Chelsea this summer according to report.
Chelsea has held talks with Real Madrid for a possible transfer of the left-back to Stamford Bridge after the Blues suffer a blowing the race to land Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.
Leicester City slap £80 million asking price on the defender and that has led Chelsea to explore other options as the likes of Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico and Atalanta’s Robin Gosens and FC Porto Alex Telles have all been linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge.
The report in ESPN, Chelsea are now favourites to land Reguilon and negotiations for the Madrid left-back are now at an ‘advanced stage’.
Reguilon has the option to remain at the Sanchez Pizjuan but he wants a move to the Premier League, Chelsea is now in talks with Real Madrid to determine whether the deal will be a season-long loan or a permanent transfer in the region of €25 million (£22.5m).
The defender joined Julen Lopetegui side on loan from Real Madrid last season and had impress under the former Los Blancos manager but the presence of Marcelo and Ferland Mendy has threatened his place in the starting line-up.
Real Madrid is open to the deal and Chelsea is keen on making more recruitments following their 2-1 defeats against Arsenal in the FA Cup finals on Saturday at Wembley.
