Pep Guardiola is ready to put club rivalries aside as Manchester City are set to make a bid for United’s forward, Alexis Sanchez, according to a report.
The 31-year-old spent the whole of the 2019-20 on loan with Inter Milan after struggling to adapt to life at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Sanchez has impressed for Inter since Serie A’s restart last month and the Italian club are keen to extend his stay by a further year.
The Red Devils are looking to get the flop forward’s £400,000-a-week wages off their books, with Inter supposedly prepared to pay a quarter of that.
However, Chilean newspaper La Cuarta claims that the Cityzens are willing to end Sanchez’s nightmare at Manchester United for good by making an approach this summer.
Guardiola wants a reunion with the Chile international whom he worked with at Barcelona and tried to sign him from Arsenal in January 2018, only for United to outbid their rivals.
Sanchez has scored and assisted a combined nine goals in his last eight league outings in the Serie A for Inter Milan.
