Manchester United has dropped Inter Milan bound Ashley Young as the team’s captain has he named Harry Maguire as the club new captain on full-time bases.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed the armband to the defender and he would replace Young in that capacity after just joining the team in the last summer.
Solskjaer opted to choose Maguire as the team captain due to the commanding figure of the big defender and he emphasized that the center-back will remain as the captain of the future.
In his press conference Solskjaersaid: ‘Harry is wearing the captain’s armband and will keep wearing it. He’s been a leader in the group, I’ve been impressed by his leadership skills, so he will continue wearing the armband.

‘He’s come in and everything about him tells me he’s a leader, he’s part of a group we’ve had that have been leading this young group, David (De Gea), Marcus (Rashford), Harry, so Harry will keep on wearing the armband.’
Young had been named United skipper at the start of the season but is expected to leave to join Inter Milan this month.
Long, 34, has agreed to join Inter Milan in a deal worth £1.5million and he is due for medicals on Friday.
