Nigeria Football Federation want Premier League star Bukayo Saka to don the green and white jersey of the Super Eagles.
The NFF is working tirelessly to ensure the Arsenal defender play for Nigeria rather than England following his impressive performance for the Gunners this season.
Saka, 18, plays as a left-back and the Nigerian football governing body hope to persuade him to play for the Super Eagles, according to the report in the Daily Mail.
The defender played for England at the junior level and he is currently with the English under-19 side.
England is keen on playing him in the under-21 when the opportunity comes but Nigeria is pushing to play him in the senior team at the moment the players’ preference remains unclear.
The likes of Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori opted to play for the Three Lions and the NFF want to avert a similar situation in the case of Saka and they aim to intensify their effort to see that he plays for his motherland in the future.
