Heartbreak for Arsenal as dramatic extra-time Olympiacos goal sends Gunners out of Europa League after playing 2-1 victory at Emirate Stadium on Thursday night.
Leading 1-0 from the first leg in Athens, we found it tough to get going for much of the match and were made to pay when the Greek side took the lead through a Papa Abou Cisse header at the start of the second half.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a stellar scissor-kick goal in the 113th minute to seemingly put Arsenal through, but El Arabi’s game-winner six minutes from a set-piece later left the London club stunned.
Youssef El Arabi’s last-gasp goal in added extra time helped Olympiakos pull off a major upset and oust Arsenal from the Europa League.
Equally as heartbreaking was Aubameyang missing a glaring chance in the game’s final play to grab the goal that would have seen his side through.
