Ronaldo celebrated his 1,000th match with another goal

by comsmedia

Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated his 1,000th match with another goal in Italy as Juventus beat SPAL 2-1 away.

The goal scoring phenomena, who celebrated his 35th birthday earlier this month, opened the scoring for Juve at the Stadio Paolo Mazza to make it a record-equalling eleven successive league games in which he has found the net, a run during which CR7 has scored sixteen goals.
Ronaldo, who rattled the crossbar late on from a free-kick, now joins Gabriel Batistuta and Fabio Quagliarella in scoring in eleven consecutive Serie A matches. Ronaldo gets the opportunity to break the record on Sunday against title rivals Inter in Turin.

Ten years Ronaldo’s junior, Bruno Fernandes is another Portuguese player making an impression on the world stage. His first few performances for Manchester United have received rave reviews and against Watford last weekend he bagged his first goal, a coolly taken penalty, after being tripped in the area. In an eventual 3–0 victory at Old Trafford he also provided an assist for the third goal scored by Mason Greenwood. CW
