Ronaldo TOP 100 Goals For Real Madrid

by comsmedia

Cristiano Ronaldo can’t stop breaking records. The Real Madrid forward reached 100 goals in Europe with his double against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena last Wednesday – and now he has a century of Champions League strikes in sight too.

Ronaldo hits 100th club goal in Europe

The Portuguese scored twice in Munich to become the first player ever to make it to 100 club goals in UEFA competitions and, with 97 in the Champions League, he is also the leading scorer in the continental competition – three ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

No player has netted more in a single edition of the Champions League than Cristiano, who hit 17 goals en route to the title in 2013-14 – a mark he also reached, coincidentally, by scoring twice away to Bayern.

He holds the record for goals in the group stage too (11 in 2015-16), has more strikes in the knockout phase than anyone else (42 in total) and is the only player who has scored three hat-tricks in a single season in the Champions League (also in 2015-16).

In addition to all of that, Ronaldo is the first footballer to have won the European Golden Shoe in two different leagues (with Manchester United in 2007-08 and Real Madrid in 2010-11, 2013-14 and 2014-15). He is also the all-time top scorer for Los Blancos with 392 strikes, having surpassed Raul’s 323 in 2015.

He is Portugal’s all-time top scorer too with 71 goals, with only one European player (Hungary legend Ferenc Puskas, on 84) ahead of him on the list of leading marksmen in international football.

Ronaldo has netted more goals in the European Championship (including qualifying: 29) than any other player and is the only one to have scored at four Finals (2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016). Overall, he has nine goals in European Championship Finals and is tied with France icon Michel Platini.

In La Liga, meanwhile, he has more hat-tricks than any other player (32), while he is Madrid’s all-time top scorer in the derby against Atletico (eight) and is just two behind Alfredo Di Stefano in the Clasico (with 16).

And with a new contract signed just last year, he will hope to keep on breaking goalscoring records for some to come at Real – starting with reaching 100 in the Champions League.
