Liverpool have taken a step closer to the Premier League title after running out 4-0 winners over Crystal Palace at Anfield on Wednesday night.
After a lukewarm performance against Everton last week, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds were back to their swaggering best as they put the Eagles to the sword on Merseyside.
It didn’t take Liverpool long to open the scoring, Trent Alexander-Arnold curling home a superb free kick in the 23rd minute.
The Reds went into the break two up as Mohamed Salah latched on to Fabinho’s lofted delivery, racing through on goal and calmly slotting past Wayne Hennessey just before half time.
Liverpool’s defence played their part in ensuring Alisson Becker did not have a single shot on target to contend with.
Virgil van Dijk was flawless as usual and Joe Gomez, who came in for the injured Joel Matip, also put in a commanding performance.
Plenty of Reds fans singled Gomez out for praise on social media, tipping the 6ft 2in ace for superstardom.
