Rafael van der Vaart wants his old club Tottenham to sign Ajax star Hakim Ziyech.
The former Spurs midfielder revealed he had text club chairman Daniel Levy telling him the winger would be perfect.
The 26-year-old has been a star for the Dutch club and scored 21 goals in all competitions last season.
While working as a pundit for Studio Voetbal, van der Vaart said: “I really hope he goes to Tottenham Hotspur. I sent a message today to Levy, I said ‘get Ziyech after this season’. I am convinced that he will become a sensation in London.”
There was plenty of interest in him over the summer with Arsenal and Liverpool thought to be keen.
A move never materialised and he signed a new contract with the club, which then removed a previous £26million release clause.
Ziyech has again started the season well with six goals to his name and can expect clubs to renew interest next summer.
