Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has sent a strong warning to Liverpool ahead of UEFA Champions’ last 16 draws on Monday.
The Premier League leaders booked their place in the knockout stages on Tuesday night as they beat Salzburg 2-0 to top Group E, with Naby Keita and Mohamed Salah scoring second-half goals at the Red Bull Arena.

Zidane who guided the La Liga giant to three back-to-back Champions League before dethroned by Liverpool last term after dumped out from the tournament by Ajax in the round of 16 last term but the French coach desperate to return the trophy to the Spanish capital this season and insists his side are ready to test themselves against any opposition, even Red Devils who they beat in 2018 final.
“If we play Liverpool, we will eliminate them,’ Zidane said with a smile following Madrid’s win over Club Bruges.
“We can’t do anything about the draw.’
The draw for the last 16 of the Champions League takes place on Monday and Liverpool will be handed a tie with any of the following teams: Real Madrid, Atalanta, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund or Lyon.
